AdventHealth in Florida seeks a licensed Physical Therapy Assistant to support patient care under supervision. The role emphasizes collaboration with therapists, case managers, and the care team to implement treatment plans and monitor progress.

The position is full-time with day shifts at 5802 E Fowler Ave, Temple Terrace, FL 33617. Requires PTA license, BLS, and a valid Driver's License. Company provides phone, devices, and comprehensive benefits.

Qualifications

• Must be able to read, write, and speak conversational English.
• Entry-level competency for Physical Therapy practice.
• BLS certification required.

Responsibilities

• Maintain open communication with the case manager, primary therapist, and other healthcare professionals to facilitate interdisciplinary continuity of care and discharge planning.
• Maintain productivity standards and adjust work hours to meet patient needs.
• Participate in departmental meetings, education sessions, and performance improvement initiatives to maintain clinical competencies.
• Monitor patient response to treatment and request adjustments from the Physical Therapist as needed.
• Educate patients and caregivers on identified needs and implement treatment plans under the Physical Therapist's guidance.
• Document interventions and patient progress accurately and in a timely manner per standards and policies.

Job Description:

Up to a $2,500 Sign on Bonus Available

Mileage reimbursement provided: $0.76 per mile

Schedule: Monday - Friday, 8am - 5pm; weekend on-call rotation

Company provided phone and laptop/iPad

Coverage Areas (one of the following):

• Hillsborough County
• Pasco County
• Pinellas County
• Polk County
• Sebring/Highlands/Hardee

• Monitors patient response to treatment and communicates with the Physical Therapist for necessary adjustments.
• Educates patients, family members, and caregivers on identified needs, ensuring understanding. Implements treatment plans established by an Physical Therapist utilizing recommended techniques, adhering to insurance guidelines and patient needs.
• Documents interventions and patient progress accurately, completely, and timely, using measurable and objective terminology in line with standards of practice, insurance guidelines, and department/hospital policies and procedures.
• Other duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

• Entry level competency of Physical therapy practice, theory, principle, and applications as defined in competency department policies. [Required]
• Basic computer skills and knowledge of Microsoft Office. [Required]
• Must be able to read, write, and speak conversational English. [Required]
