Job summary

AdventHealth Temple Terrace is seeking a Physical Therapy Assistant to support care across Hillsborough, Pasco, Pinellas, Polk, and Sebring/Highlands/Hardee counties. You will assist the Physical Therapist, educate patients and families, and help with discharge planning in a day-shift role.

The position emphasizes teamwork, adherence to clinical guidelines, and accurate documentation to support quality care. A comprehensive benefits package is provided from day one.

Qualifications

• Entry level competency in physical therapy practice, theory and applications.
• Basic computer skills and knowledge of Microsoft Office.
• Must be able to read, write, and speak conversational English.

Responsibilities

• Maintain open communication with the case manager, primary therapist, and other professionals to support discharge planning.
• Maintain productivity standards and adjust hours to patient needs.
• Participate in departmental meetings and ongoing education to maintain competencies.
• Monitor patient response to treatment and communicate necessary adjustments to the Physical Therapist.
• Educate patients and caregivers on identified needs and implement treatment plans as directed.
• Document interventions and patient progress accurately and timely.
• Other duties as assigned.

Job Description:

Up to a $2,500 Sign on Bonus Available

Mileage reimbursement provided: $0.76 per mile

Schedule: Monday - Friday, 8am - 5pm; weekend on-call rotation

Company provided phone and laptop/iPad

Coverage Areas (one of the following):

• Hillsborough County
• Pasco County
• Pinellas County
• Polk County
• Sebring/Highlands/Hardee

• Maintains open communication with the case manager, primary therapist, and other healthcare professionals to facilitate interdisciplinary continuity of care and appropriate discharge planning.
• Maintains productivity standards as defined by the department and adjusts work hours to meet the needs of patients.
• Participates in departmental meetings, education sessions, and performance improvement initiatives to maintain clinical competencies and adhere to professional and evidence-based practices.
• Monitors patient response to treatment and communicates with the Physical Therapist for necessary adjustments.
• Educates patients, family members, and caregivers on identified needs, ensuring understanding. Implements treatment plans established by an Physical Therapist utilizing recommended techniques, adhering to insurance guidelines and patient needs.
• Documents interventions and patient progress accurately, completely, and timely, using measurable and objective terminology in line with standards of practice, insurance guidelines, and department/hospital policies and procedures.
• Other duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
