Job summary

WVU Medicine seeks a licensed Physical Therapist to evaluate, treat, and coordinate care for patients in the home health setting. Responsibilities include supervising staff, documenting progress, and ensuring safety and policy adherence. Travel to patient homes is required.

The ideal candidate holds current PT licensure in applicable states and CPR certification, with a valid driver’s license and the ability to work in a dynamic, patient-centered environment.

Qualifications

• Current physical therapist licensure in the applicable state where services will be performed.
• MD: PT License through Maryland Board of Physical Therapy Examiners or PT Compact License
• OH: PT License through Ohio board or Compact License
• PA: PT License through PA Board or Compact License
• WV: PT License through WV Board or Compact License
• Valid driver’s license
• CPR certification within 30 days of hire date

Responsibilities

• Performs evaluation procedures including musculoskeletal/orthotest, neuro/motor tests, gait analysis, manual muscle test, functional analysis, prosthetic/orthotic evaluation, Oasis worksheet.
• Deliver and analyze PT treatment including modalities, therapeutic exercise, and manual skills.
• Implements home programs and educates patient/family per policy.
• Supervise assistive personnel and PT students.
• Provide care based on patient age and education level; competency completed before caring for younger patients.
• Communicate patient status/progress with home care team.
• Document supervisory visits and ensure timely paperwork.
• Maintain safe environment and ensure staff compliance with safety policies.
• Perform CPR when directed by patient’s representatives.
