Job summary

St. Mary’s Home Health Service, part of LHC Group and the Optum family, seeks a Per Diem Physical Therapist Assistant to provide treatment, instruction, and patient education under the supervising PT to improve patient well‑being in home care.

Responsibilities include following state laws, aiding with exercises, recording responses, coordinating care with the team, and teaching patients and families. Licensure and weekend availability required.

Qualifications

• Current, licensed to assist in physical therapy in the state of practice.
• Available to work a weekend rotation.
• Current driver's license or reliable transportation.

Responsibilities

• Follow state laws and plan of care defined by the supervising PT.
• Instruct and assist patients with active and passive exercises.
• Observe and report patient responses; coordinate with the care team.
• Educate patient, family, and other caregivers on therapy within PTA scope.
• Function effectively in diverse home care settings.
