Job summary

Orlando Health Home Care, part of the Optum family, is seeking a qualified Occupational Therapy Assistant to deliver home-based OT and help patients regain maximum physical function. This role may be PRN or Full-Time and requires a current state-licensed OTA, CPR certification, and a valid driver's license with access to a reliable vehicle.

Qualifications

• Current Occupational Therapy Assistant licensure in state of practice.
• Current CPR certification.
• Current driver's license and vehicle insurance, access to a dependable vehicle, or public transportation.
• Ability to function in any home situation regardless of age, race, creed, color, sex, disability, or financial condition of the client.
• Demonstrate ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
• Demonstrate ability to work independently.
• Good communication, writing, and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Follow state laws governing provision of occupational therapy in home care and follow the treatment plan defined by the supervising OT.
• Follow the plan of care, instruct and aid patients in evidence-based treatment within the scope of the OTA and according to state laws.
• Observe, record, and report to the nurse supervisor and physician the patient’s response to treatment and changes to the patient’s condition.
• Instruct patient, family, caregiver, and other members of the health care team in the areas of therapy within the scope of the occupational therapy assistant.
