Role Description

The caregiver's role includes providing hands on care and physical and emotional support to each resident while maintaining a safe and comfortable home like environment.

Responsibilities

• Maintaining cleanliness of resident’s apartment/home
• Helping residents maintain independence, promoting dignity and physical safety of each resident
• Participating and assisting residents with activities of daily living (i.e., bathing, dressing, toileting, grooming, ambulation, transferring, eating) as instructed
• Engaging residents in life skills and other life enrichment activities

Qualifications

Per Florida requirements MUST have the following:

• HHA certificate proving that a minimum of 40 hours of education was received with 2 of those 40 hours being in classroom time
• AND/ OR a Certified Nurse’s Aid certification through the State of Florida
• CPR certification
• Valid Driver License
• Auto Insurance
• High School diploma/GED
• Must be 18 years of age
• Previous experience working with seniors preferred
• Ability to communicate effectively with Residents, management and co-workers
• Superior customer service skills
• Ability to handle multiple priorities
• Must demonstrate good judgment, problem solving and decision making skills
• Must have transportation and active driver's license with proof of auto insurance.

Discovery at Home employs our caregivers, taxes are taken out for you ahead of time! NOT a contract 1099 role.

PAY: Based on experience and training.

Eligible team members are offered a comprehensive benefit package including medical, dental, vision, life and disability insurances, paid time off and paid holidays. Working 30 hours a week is considered FULL time for benefits.
