Job summary

Muir Home Health is seeking a compassionate Home Health Aide (HHA) to join our East Bay team. Under RN or therapist supervision, you will provide essential personal care and observation to patients, and document care provided to support quality home health services.

Qualified applicants hold CA HHA certification, CPR, a valid California driver’s license, and prior home health experience is preferred. We offer competitive pay and comprehensive benefits in a supportive work environment.

Responsibilities

• Provide personal care: baths, oral hygiene, nail & skin care, dressing assistance
• Change bed linen and assist with toileting
• Plan and prepare nutritious meals and assist in feeding
• Take and record temperatures, pulse, respiration, and blood pressure
• Assist with ambulation and range-of-motion exercises as ordered
• Assist in self-administration of medications
• Report patient condition and changes to nurse

The home health aide is responsible for observing patients, reporting these observations and documenting observations and care performed.DUTIES AND RESPSONSIBILITYProvide personal care including:BathsBack rubsOral hygieneShampoosChange bed linenAssist patients with dressing and undressingNail & Skin care to prevent breakdownAssist the patient with toileting activitiesKeep patient’s living area clean and orderlyOther duties include:Plan and prepare nutritious meals.Assist in feeding the patientTake and record oral, rectal and axillary temperatures, pulse, respiration and blood pressure when ordered.Assist in ambulation and exercise according to the plan of care.Perform range of motion and other simple procedures as an extensional therapy service as ordered.Assist patient in the self-administration of medication.Do patient’s laundryMeet safety needs of patients and using equipment safely and properly (foot stools,side rails, etc.)Report on patient’s condition and significant changes to the assigned nurseJOB REQUIREMENTSActive Home Health Aide Certification through CA Department of Public HealthMaintain a current CPR certificationHome Health experience preferredMust be a licensed driver with an automobile that is insured in accordance with state or organization requirements and is in good working orderWHY MUIR HOME HEALTH?Muir Home Health is part of the Cornerstone Group with about 75 home health and hospice agencies throughout the country.
