Job summary

Muir Home Health is seeking a compassionate Physical Therapist Assistant to join our East Bay team. The PTA will provide therapy services under the direction of a physical therapist and the physician's plan of care, helping patients relieve pain and regain function.

Qualifications

• Valid California Physical Therapy Assistant license required.
• Current CPR certification required.
• 1+ year of PTA experience; home health experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct physical therapy according to the plan of care under supervision of licensed PT.
• Treat patients to relieve pain, improve function, and maximize performance.
• Lead active and passive therapeutic exercises and gait/transfer training.
• Utilize modalities such as heat, cold, ultrasound, electrical stimulation and massage as directed.
• Document patient progress and maintain timely records in the clinical chart.
• Educate patients on use of assistive devices and home care recommendations.
