Job summary

Interim HealthCare is seeking a Home Health Aide (HHA) to support seniors at home in Somerset County with compassionate, patient-centered care. You’ll help with daily activities, mobility, med reminders and a safe home environment, enabling clients to live independently.

We offer flexible scheduling, 1:1 client ratios, online training with CEUs, and tuition discounts through Rasmussen University to help you grow in your caregiving career.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required or for HHA registration in NJ.
• Active Home Health Aide (HHA) registration in New Jersey is required.
• CPR certification is required or preferred.
• TB, MMR and HepB vaccination information is required.

Responsibilities

• Provide personal care and support to seniors to live safely at home.
• Assist with activities of daily living (bathing, dressing, grooming, light housekeeping, meal prep, shopping, transportation, companionship).
• Assist with ambulation, transferring and range of motion exercises.
• Provide medication reminders and report any concerns to a supervisor.
• Create a safe home environment with unobstructed pathways.
• Engage clients in activities such as puzzles, games, reading and hobbies.

As a Home Health Aide, here’s a big-picture view of what you’ll do:

• Provide the personal care and support seniors need to live safely at home
• Assist with activities of daily living such as bathing, dressing, grooming, light housekeeping, meal preparation, shopping, transportation and companionship

• Provide medication reminders, document their condition and notify a supervisor of any concerns
• Ensure a safe home environment with unobstructed pathways
• Participate in activities that bring clients joy such as puzzles, games, reading and hobbies

A few must-haves for Home Health Aides:

• High school diploma (or equivalent) and active Home Health Aide (HHA) registration in New Jersey
• Six (6) months of experience in a healthcare role, preferred
• CPR certification
• TB, MMR and HepB Vaccination information
• Valid New Jersey driver’s license, auto insurance and transportation
• Compassionate and helping nature, good communicator and ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
