Job summary

Clermont Senior Services Inc. is hiring a Home Health Aide to provide compassionate personal care and homemaking services to clients in Clermont County. The role includes performing basic nursing tasks under supervision and adhering to agency policies and regulations.

A Free STNA certification course is offered with state test fee and uniforms, including paid class time and mileage reimbursement. No nights or weekends; full-time position with comprehensive benefits and a competitive hourly rate.

Qualifications

• Bachelor-level requirements not specified
• STNA certification required or equivalent
• Home Care Aide program completion preferred
• Recent healthcare experience within 3 years acceptable

Responsibilities

• Exemplify service with Heart attitude in all tasks.
• Maintain patient confidentiality per agency policies and laws.
• Follow agency policies and procedures and comply with laws.
• Provide safe personal care: bed bath, sponge bath, shampoo, nail/skin care, oral hygiene, toileting, transfers, ambulation, nutrition and fluids.
• Provide homemaking: light housekeeping, laundry, meal prep, errands and groceries.
• Provide respite services as assigned.
• Act as liaison between customer, Home Care Manager, and case manager; report risks promptly.
• Complete and submit documentation within required timeframes.
• Attend staff meetings and training.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Education

High School diploma or GED

Certified STNA (State Tested Nurse Aide)

Graduate of an approved Home Care Aide Program

One year of supervised healthcare experience

Competency evaluation completed

SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Will exemplify the, “Service with Heart” attitude that is expected of all employees.
• Responsible for ensuring no confidential information is discussed or shared unless it is in the course of conducting valid Agency business.
• Responsible for conducting work in conformance with Agency’s policies and procedures in accordance with federal, state, and local laws and regulations
• Responsible for providing appropriate and safe personal care services as assigned to include bed bath, sponge, tub or shower bath, shampoo (sink, tub, or bed), nail and skin care, oral hygiene, toileting and elimination, safe transfer techniques and ambulation, normal range of motion and positioning, adequate nutrition and fluid intake, and any other task assigned by the licensed nurse, including special tasks requiring instruction by the licensed nurse and return demonstration by the home health aide.
• Responsible for providing appropriate and safe homemaking services as assigned by the nurse or social service case manager to include light housekeeping, laundry, meal preparation, and essential errands and grocery shopping.
• Responsible for providing appropriate and safe respite services, including personal care, homemaking, and companionship as assigned by the appropriate professional.
• Act as a liaison between the customer, the Home Care Manager, and case manager, including prompt reporting of customers at immediate risk or endangerment.
• Responsible for accurately completing and submitting all required customer or Agency documentation within required time frames.
• Attend and participate in all scheduled staff meetings and training.
• Performs other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Requirements

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:

• High School diploma or GED OR
• Certified State Tested Nurse Aide (S.T.N.A.) as verified by Ohio Nurse Aide Registry. OR
• Graduate of an approved Home Care Aide Program, without a 24-month lapse in employment since completing program. OR
• One year of supervised institutional or community based direct service delivery in healthcare within the last three years. OR
• Nursing students who can verify the successful completion of the Fundamentals of Nursing Care.
• Successfully complete a competency evaluation including a written exam and demonstration of basic skills.
• Must meet the Agency’s general requirements.
