Job summary

CAPECO is seeking a Home Auditor Inspector to deliver weatherization auditing and inspection services. You will perform diagnostic testing, data entry, and contractor oversight in the Hermiston or Pendleton office, ensuring compliance with federal and local standards.

Responsibilities include site inspections, safety checks, and educating clients on weatherization measures. A degree or relevant experience, plus multiple certifications, is required, with ongoing training and certification updates

Qualifications

• Associate degree in related field, or three years of comparable experience and/or training.
• Must have or obtain Oregon Lead Safe Renovator Certification within 90 days from date of hire.
• Must have or obtain the following certifications within two years from date of hire: Oregon Residential Energy Analyst, BPI Residential Energy Auditor & QC Inspector, REM Design user, and other program requirements.
• Ability to work in a team environment and interact professionally with the public, staff, contractors and state program representatives.
• Professionalism and workplace etiquette expected in office and during inspections/audits.

Responsibilities

• Conduct detailed energy audits on residential structures and enter data into energy analysis software.
• Administer diagnostic testing (air leakage, static pressure, exhaust, combustion, lead paint, CO). Collect asbestos samples if suspected.
• Identify health and safety issues and make recommendations on weatherization measures.
• Submit applications and reports to state/partners and assist with administrative tasks.
• Perform pre-audit inspections and oversee contractor work with periodic inspections.
