Job summary

RISE Group in Worcester, MA is seeking a Residential Energy Specialist to perform scheduled home energy assessments for utilities and sponsors. You will identify efficiency measures, develop work plans, and present them to homeowners.

The role offers growth toward a BPI certification within six months and a base salary with commission potential. You’ll conduct thorough audits, explain benefits and costs, secure approvals, and coordinate rebates while ensuring high customer satisfaction.

Qualifications

• At least two years of residential construction or energy-efficiency experience.
• Strong analytical skills and aptitude for mathematics.
• Excellent interpersonal and communications skills, including the ability to convey technical concepts.
• Sales or other customer-facing experience.
• A commitment to energy efficiency.
• Proficiency with Windows-based applications: Word, Excel, Outlook.
• High school diploma or equivalent plus post-high-school studies.
• Valid driver’s license and ability to travel daily.
• Physically able to lift up to 50 lbs., climb ladders, access attics/basements.
• Able to pass criminal background and drug screening.

Responsibilities

• Conduct residential energy audits evaluating insulation, appliances, HVAC, lighting and electrical systems.
• Conduct in-home energy tests and install energy-saving measures.
• Use proprietary software to prepare on-site assessment reports.
• Explain energy-efficiency measures, costs and savings.
• Secure homeowner approval and coordinate rebates and financing options.
• Follow up with homeowners to ensure customer satisfaction.
• Work toward BPI Building Analyst certification within six months of hire.
