Job summary

The RISE Group in Worcester, MA is seeking a Residential Inspector to perform in-home quality assurance inspections of subcontracted work for energy customers. You will visit residences across the project lifecycle, document findings, and ensure adherence to quality standards.

The role is full-time, Monday–Friday, with potential additional hours as needed. Ideal candidates have 3+ years of construction/remodeling experience, strong communication skills, and a passion for energy efficiency.

Qualifications

• At least three years of building construction/remodeling experience (carpentry, electrical or mechanical).
• Experience interacting with customers and contractors.
• Interpersonal skills to avoid conflict and build mutual respect.
• Excellent verbal and writing skills.
• Commitment to energy efficiency.
• Proficiency with Windows apps: Word, Excel, Outlook.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Valid driver’s license and ability to travel daily to customers’ homes.
• Able to pass criminal background and drug screening.

Responsibilities

• Interpret written and sketched work orders.
• Train and direct installation crews; maintain positive relationships.
• Interact with homeowners politely during site visits and issues.
• Facilitate on-site work to complete tasks on time.
• Perform diagnostic tests (blower door, combustion safety, infrared).
• Document findings with photos and reports.
• Resolve minor deficiencies during inspections.
• Obtain signatures and approve change orders as needed.
• Communicate with office, homeowners, contractors and officials clearly.
