Job summary

TAIT is hiring an experienced Petroleum Service Technician to service underground and aboveground storage tank systems at gas stations, marinas, airports, and other facilities. You will test, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair UST/AST equipment, while ensuring client compliance with environmental requirements and industry regulations.

The role requires independent field work, strong problem-solving, and existing petroleum industry knowledge.

Qualifications

• 2–4+ years hands-on experience in petroleum equipment service, UST/AST systems, or related role.
• Demonstrated troubleshooting and repair of UST/AST equipment.
• Current or recent ICC UST/AST certification(s).
• Current or recent Veeder-Root installation, service, or related certification.
• Working knowledge of petroleum equipment, compliance testing, and applicable regulations.
• Experience completing technical service reports and compliance documentation.
• Strong mechanical and troubleshooting skills.
• Ability to work independently and manage field assignments with limited supervision.
• Basic computer proficiency, including email and Microsoft Office.
• Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.

Responsibilities

• Complete required training, including 40-hour HAZWOPER.
• Perform compliance tests (spill bucket, vapor recovery, A/B Inspections, etc.).
• Troubleshoot and repair UST/AST equipment.
• Submit reports and timecards using our digital system.
• Communicate with clients and represent TAIT professionally.
• Work independently and follow all safety protocols.
