Job summary

Fresenius Medical Care in Carbondale, IL, seeks a Nurse Leader to oversee the Home Therapies program. You will coordinate day-to-day operations, supervise staff, and ensure high-quality patient care for ESRD patients needing home dialysis.

The role involves budgeting, training, and ensuring compliance with policy, regulatory standards, and safety protocols. Strong leadership and clinical expertise are essential for success.

Qualifications

• Minimum of one year dialysis experience with three months peritoneal experience required; one year medical-surgical nursing or ICU experience preferred.
• Supervisory experience preferred
• Successfully complete a training course in the theory and practice of dialysis therapies
• Demonstrated leadership skills including, but not limited to communication, customer service, performance management and continuous quality improvement.

Responsibilities

• Provides safe and effective oversight, support, training and scheduling of the delivery of home dialysis therapies to patients in compliance with facility policies and external regulations.
• Responsible for profit and loss management of the assigned program including achieving budgets and KPIs.
• Directs and manages all aspects of patient care for Home Therapies patients from admission through discharge, guiding staff to ensure safe delivery.
• Oversees patient and caregiver readiness to perform dialysis at home and trains on equipment operation and maintenance.
• Manages patient experience initiatives and supports company patient satisfaction drivers and staff engagement.
• Ensures staff competency in operation of home dialysis equipment and maintains licensures and CPR certifications.
• Manages program supplies, equipment tracking, and timely replenishment of orders.
• Directs CQI activities, patient retention, regulatory reporting and data entry into systems.
