Job summary

Dohrn Transfer Company, a leading Midwest LTL carrier, is seeking a Full Time Class B Driver at our Melrose Park terminal. Drive a straight truck delivering and picking up freight, with home daily schedule and a pay rate starting at $28.06/hour, increasing to $31.09/hour after year one.

Hours are Monday–Friday, dayshift. Benefits include Health/Vision/Dental, 401k matching, life and disability insurance, and a quarterly safety incentive bonus of $250/quarter (up to $1,000 annually) based on

Qualifications

• Minimum age 21.
• Minimum 1 year verifiable Class B equipment experience.
• Road test administered by a Dohrn Transfer Driver Trainer.
• Hazardous Materials and Tanker endorsements required.
• Only one CDL from resident state; provide licensing history.
• No DUI/OWI within the last 5 years.
• Maintain an acceptable MVR.
• DOT physical and pre-employment drug screen; negative results.
• 10-year work history check; explain gaps.
• Read and write English and perform basic math.

Responsibilities

• Drive a straight truck between customer locations to deliver and pick up freight.
• Load and unload truck; manual or with dockworkers when available.
• Perform lifting, pushing, and carrying of freight.
• Secure freight using straps or other methods as needed.
• Inspect vehicle and comply with DOT and company safety requirements.
• Maintain required records (logs) and comply with hours-of-service regulations.
