Job summary

Ryder System, Inc. in Lorton, VA is seeking a SOLO Class A CDL Truck Driver for local shuttle runs between Ryder customer facilities.

This role offers weekly pay, a supervisor-friendly environment, and home daily time with a Monday–Friday schedule from 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM. Drivers receive 24/7 roadside maintenance support, uniforms and allowances, PTO from day 1 (up to 80 hours first year), medical/dental/vision benefits after 30 days, and a 401(k) with company match after one year.

Qualifications

• Must have a valid Class A CDL and endorsements for the position.
• Must pass Ryder drug test and background checks.
• Ability to read, understand, and follow DOT regulations.

Responsibilities

• Safely drive a commercial vehicle in compliance with DOT and safety policies.
• Maintain accurate logs and records as required.
• Communicate with dispatch and customers to ensure on-time pickups and deliveries.

Weekly Pay $840 per weekAnd it gets better -

• Driver Positions Pay Weekly

• Hourly Pay: $21.00 Per Hour

• Home Time: Local - Home Daily

• Schedule: Monday-Friday 8:00AM-4:00PM

All Drivers have 24/7 Roadside Maintenance by a Ryder Trained Technician plus Service Employees fuel up our trucks at all 800+ Maintenance Facilities

• Route: Shuttle Equipment between Ryder Customer Facilities

• Freight:No Touch - Empty Trailers for Equipment Shuttle Transfer Movement

Requirements

• Minimum 21 years of age

• Pass a Ryder Drug Test

• Pass a Ryder Background and Motor vehicle check including Drug and alcohol verification from previous employers for the last 3 years

• Pass a DOT physical

• Pass a Ryder road test

• Provide appropriate CDL and endorsements for the position

• Must have Class A verifiable experience in a tractor trailer or comparable vehicle:

• 9 months experience within the past 3 years, OR

• 2 years’ experience within the last 5 years, OR

• 5 years’ experience within the last 10 years

• Ability to follow written and/or oral instructions

• Ability to read, interpret and apply laws, rules, regulations policies and/or procedures

Some positions require additional screening that may include employment and education verification; motor vehicle records check and a road test; and/or badging or background requirements of the customer to which you are assigned.

Responsibilities

• This position is primarily responsible for safely driving a commercial vehicle and requires compliance with safety & DOT Regulations, continuous training and customer service

Additional Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• Ensuring compliance with applicable federal and/or state laws, regulations, and/or agency rules, standards and guidelines

• Detecting and eliminating or minimizing safety hazards

• Maintaining accurate records and logs Other tasks as assigned
