Job summary

Family of Kidz is seeking a Special Educator to provide individualized instruction in home and community settings across Suffolk County, NY. The role follows the school calendar and offers part-time or full-time potential with fee-for-service options, with afternoon/evening hours.

Compensation ranges from $50 to $70 per hour, dependent on experience, licenses, and caseload. Benefits for part-time roles include medical, dental, vision, FSA, and pet insurance, plus development opportunities.

Qualifications

• NYS Certification in SWD (special education) is required or preferred.
• Minimum of 1 year experience working with children and families is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Work with students in home and community settings to deliver individualized lessons aligned to IEP goals.
• Develop creative, multi-sensory lessons based on IEP goals to engage learners of differing abilities.
• Collect meaningful data on IEP goals and report progress quarterly.
• Maintain communication with lead supervisors and school teams.
• Maintain attendance records and submit daily electronic billing.
• Attend professional development trainings to stay current on best practices.
• Attend CSE meetings and interact professionally with parents and other professionals.
