Job summary

Addus HomeCare is seeking a Coordinator to schedule and supervise in-home care workers and clients in a defined geographic area. The role supports older adults and people with disabilities to live safely at home. Supervisory or home care experience is preferred.

Typical hours are Monday–Friday 8 am–5 pm. The position offers benefits and retirement planning; candidates should have reliable transportation and strong communication skills for coordinating with families and healthcare professionals.

Qualifications

• Must have high school diploma or equivalent.
• 6 months of Industry experience required.
• Interpersonal, organizational and communication skills.
• Computer skills including Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel and Scheduling program.
• Must have reliable transportation.

Responsibilities

• Coordinating caregiver schedules for shifts, visits, and client assignments.
• Weekdays and weekend on-call shifts.
• Schedules employees as directed by client's care plan established upon intake.
• Creates work schedules by entering schedules into the system, manages changes to client schedules due to client request, illness, vacation or leaves of absence.
• Provides alternate coverage to ensure the client's care plan is followed and client services are not interrupted.
• Supervises direct service employees by setting expectations for attendance, performance and conduct by holding employees accountable to the company's policies and guidelines.
• Matching caregivers to clients based on skills, availability, personality, and care needs.
• Handling last- minute call offs, no shows, and emergency.
• Communicate with caregivers, clients, nurse sand family members about schedule and care updates.
• Monitoring overtime, hours worked, and staffing ratios.
• Addressing client complaints or caregiver concerns.
• Coordinating coverage for weekend, holidays, and overnight shifts.
• Introducing caregiver to clients and their families.
• Assist with supervisory visits
