Job summary

MedStar Health is seeking a Speech-Language Pathologist to provide evaluation and treatment in accordance with Maryland, DC, and Virginia regulations. The role includes planning and coordinating specialized assessments, discharge planning, and collaboration with a multidisciplinary team.

Responsibilities include ongoing communication with care teams, documentation, and patient education. A Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology and a state license are required, with CPR certification

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology is required.
• 1–2 years clinical experience required.
• SLP license in MD/VA/DC required by work location.
• Valid State Driver’s License required.
• CPR certification within 90 days required.

Responsibilities

• Evaluates and provides speech-language pathology treatment per regulatory requirements.
• Arranges specialized assessments and discharge planning with referrals to community resources.
• Communicates with supervisor on patient care and rehab services.
• Maintains relationships with departments and participates in quality and service improvement teams.
• Communicates with patient’s physician and care team regarding status and care plans.
• Provides home environment assessments and recommends adaptive equipment as needed.
• Documents medical records according to standards and guidelines.
• Educates patient and caregiver about injury, disease, and treatment goals.
