Job summary

MedStar Health’s Washington Hospital Center is seeking a Professional Development Specialist to lead clinical education initiatives across multidisciplinary teams. You will assess learning needs, plan and implement education programs, and monitor outcomes to improve patient care and staff competency.

You will collaborate with Nursing Education, Interprofessional Development, and Therapy Operations to align programs with accreditation standards while maintaining documentation and reporting for

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Physical Therapy required.
• Doctoral degree in Physical Therapy preferred or
• Master's degree in Occupational Therapy also acceptable.
• Licensure in DC/MD or ability to obtain.

Responsibilities

• Plan, develop, execute and evaluate education programs for multidisciplinary staff.
• Assess learning needs and identify knowledge gaps using formal and informal methods.
• Maintain documentation of competency validation and education activities.
• Collaborate with department leaders to implement education initiatives.
• Provide field visits and direct patient care to support clinical competency and mentorship.
