Qualifications

• Ordination or Commission to function in pastoral care.
• Endorsement in good standing with the faith body.
• Five years pastoral experience; two in a clinical setting.
• 1 unit (400 hours) CPE accredited by AAPCE/NAC/ CACPE.
• Equivalencies to CPE may include certification or advanced degrees.
• Knowledge of spiritual dynamics of illness, loss and death.
• Ability to function as part of an interdisciplinary team.
• Commitment to professional growth.

Responsibilities

• Provide pastoral care interventions and counseling.
• Serve as chaplain to patients, families, caregivers and staff.
• Be an integrated member of the interdisciplinary team.
• Address spiritual needs across illness, loss and death.
