Job summary

Children’s Place Association is seeking a Home Based Education Supervisor in Chicago to lead and oversee the Home Based Education program, ensuring families receive comprehensive early childhood services and that program outcomes meet Head Start requirements.

The role involves supervising Parent Educators and Family Support Specialists, providing mentoring, coordinating trainings, and aligning services with disabilities, health and nutrition.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education required; Master’s degree preferred.
• Illinois Gateways Infant/Toddler credential required within 12 months of hire.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in Head Start or Early Head Start in a leadership or supervisory role.
• Experience training and supervising early childhood education teachers.
• Knowledge of Early Head Start performance standards; experience with home-based education programs preferred.
• Bilingual (English/Spanish) written and verbal communication skills preferred.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate, monitor and assess the Home Based Education program's operations and outcomes.
• Supervise Parent Educators and Family Support Specialist; provide mentoring and coaching.
• Lead staff development, including supervision, training and performance evaluation.
• Assist with supervision of the Early Childhood Education program in the Program Manager's absence.
• Guide home-based teaching strategies and ensure compliance with program standards.
• Support transitions of children to 3-5 programs and collaborate with other service areas.
