Job summary

Easterseals Southern California seeks an Associate Teacher to implement an inclusive early childhood program in Home Start settings. You will plan developmentally appropriate activities, coordinate with families, and participate in coaching and training to support child growth and family engagement.

Weekly home visits and community collaboration are essential, with a focus on safety, health, and development. A two-year degree in ECE or related field plus permitting steps are required.

Qualifications

• AA Degree in ECE/child development or related field with required coursework.
• Child Development Permit encouraged or required by county.
• Current pediatric CPR/First Aid certification.
• Food handler’s certificate and health/safety training completed.
• Compliance with mandated trainings including Child Abuse Reporter and Pesticide Safety.

Responsibilities

• Plan, implement, evaluate and supervise an inclusive curriculum for children and parents in Early Head Start/Head Start.
• Travel weekly to child’s home or agreed location and support families to foster learning.
• Participate in a practice-based coaching model provided by Easterseals.
• Assist recruitment and guide intake/enrollment; maintain confidential records.
• Plan trainings/meetings for families; develop Family Partnership Agreements.
• Ensure well-being of children through health, nutrition and safety activities.
