Job summary

Easterseals Southern California seeks an Associate Teacher to plan and supervise developmentally appropriate learning for young children in Head Start/Home Start programs across assigned families in Ventura County.

Under supervision, you will travel to/with families, implement inclusive curricula, recruit participants, coordinate enrollment, and maintain records while supporting parents as their child’s first lifelong educator.

Qualifications

• AA degree or higher in early childhood development/education or related field with core ECE courses.
• Child Development Permit encouraged and may be required.
• CPR and First Aid for Pediatric/Infant.
• Food handler’s certificate.
• Annual Child Abuse Reporter Training and Pesticide Safety Training per Healthy Schools Act.

Responsibilities

• Plan, implement, evaluate, and supervise an inclusive curriculum for children and parents.
• Travel weekly to child’s home or agreed location to engage families and support learning.
• Participate in practice-based coaching provided by Easterseals.
• Assist in participant recruitment and manage enrollment records.
• Plan and participate in trainings, workshops, and Family Partnership Agreements every 3 months.
• Support child health, nutrition, and dental screenings and maintain supplies.
