Job summary

Easterseals Southern California is seeking a dedicated coach to support Head Start/ Early Head Start staff. The role involves conducting observations, modeling, and feedback to improve teacher-child interactions and outcomes toward school readiness.

The incumbent will train staff, update instructional procedures, and analyze CLASS data to drive program improvement. Strong collaboration with ECE leadership and field staff is essential for success.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in early childhood education, child development or related field.
• Must possess and maintain a Child Development Permit (Master Teacher or Higher).
• Must have 3 to 6 units of Infant/Toddler class from an accredited college with a “B” grade or better.
• Must possess and maintain current pediatric CPR and first aid certificate.
• Must possess and maintain a food handler’s certificate.

Responsibilities

• Provides initial and ongoing training and technical assistance to identified teaching staff and Center Directors to ensure uniform delivery of quality services.
• Assists and/or develops and updates procedures for instructional outcomes, curriculum implementation and child assessment.
• Maintains reliability in the CLASS assessment Tool and designs classroom assessment plans for ongoing program improvement.
• Collaborates with Manager, ECE and field staff to develop and evaluate program goals in Early Childhood Education and School Readiness.
• Monitors developmentally appropriate approaches and documents progress in ECE outcomes and school readiness.
• Designs and implements staff trainings to address continuous improvement in child readiness outcomes.
• Provides input on staff performance and coordinates trainings with management.
