Job summary

You will perform Holter monitor testing and scanning, analyze heart rhythms, document findings in the EHR, and coordinate with physicians. Experience with monitoring equipment and confidentiality is essential; BLS certification expected by orientation end.

Qualifications

• Must have EKG/arrhythmia training or telemetry monitoring experience; on-the-job training available.
• Medical terminology preferred.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Provider Certification by orientation end (≈6 weeks).
• Valid Iowa Driver’s License required; meet Mercy’s Motor Vehicle Safety Standards.

Responsibilities

• Maintains proficiency with monitor equipment and procedures at MercyOne Iowa Heart Center.
• Screens patient records for diagnosis and orders; educates patients about procedures.
• Performs Holter Monitor testing and scanning; provides rhythm analysis.
• Documents symptoms, records monitor strips, and routes reports to physicians.
• Transports and assists patients; documents in EHR and billing systems.
