Job summary

MercyOne Health System is hiring a Monitor Tech for a 12-hour night shift in Des Moines, IA. You will observe cardiac monitors, communicate changes to the nurse, and document cardiac status for patients across ages.

Qualified candidates have a high school diploma or GED; health-care experience and monitor training are desirable; complete Mandatory Reporter abuse training within three months of hire.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• 18 years of age or older.
• Previous health care experience, including monitor experience, is desirable.
• Successful completion of monitor class may be required.

Responsibilities

• Monitors cardiac rhythms on telemetry units.
• Obtain and interpret rhythm strips reporting identified changes.
• Performs clerical duties (e.g., maintenance of rhythm strips, answering phones, intercom, notify the assigned nurse).
• Maintains telemetry supplies (paper, batteries, patches, pouches).
• Maintains knowledge of telemetry equipment setup, maintenance and use.
