Job summary

Performance Optimal Health in New Canaan, CT is seeking a dedicated Personal Trainer to advance clients’ fitness and recovery through tailored exercise plans.

You will conduct assessments, design programs, monitor progress, and lead sessions while ensuring safe technique and building client relationships.

The ideal candidate holds a degree in Exercise Science or related field, CPT certification, and ability to travel between locations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a related field.
• Nationally recognized CPT certification (NSCA/NASM/ACE/ACSM).
• Ability to travel between Performance locations.
• Experience training clients safely and effectively.
• Ability to teach and guide clients.
• Ability to customize one-on-one programs.
• Strong communication with clients and team.

Responsibilities

• Conduct thorough fitness assessments.
• Design individualized training programs.
• Monitor client progress and adjust as needed.
• Lead individual and group training sessions.
• Explain safe use of gym equipment.
• Maintain client progress notes within 24 hours.
• Build lasting relationships with clients.
• Communicate with Wellness team and Physical Therapists.
