Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Counseling or related field; Master's preferred.
• One to three years of experience in academic advising, career services, student success, retention, counseling, or related student support services.
• Knowledge of career development theories and advising practices.
• Experience working with diverse student populations in higher education or community-based organizations.
• Experience utilizing advising technologies and CRM platforms.

Responsibilities

• Utilize holistic advising practices to assist students in identifying academic, career, transfer, and personal goals.
• Guide students through career exploration using labor market information and career assessments.
• Assist students in connecting programs, certificates, and credentials to career pathways and employment opportunities.
• Conduct proactive outreach to students identified through alerts, retention campaigns, and career engagement initiatives.
• Help students develop individualized Academic and Career Success Plans that integrate education with long-term goals.
• Provide advising related to academic policies and college procedures.
• Refer students to campus and community resources addressing barriers affecting persistence.
• Collaborate with staff to coordinate interventions and monitor progress.
• Conduct follow-up outreach to monitor progress and encourage enrollment and completion.
• Facilitate individual and group career advising sessions and workshops.
• Participate in enrollment and student success initiatives and major fairs.
• Maintain accurate case notes in college success software.
• Demonstrate multicultural competence and foster belonging and student success.
• Participate in department, division, and college meetings as needed.
