Job summary

Qualifications

• Successful completion of a US DOL registered apprenticeship as an Operating Engineer - Heavy Equipment Technician with journeyman status and 4 years of journey-level experience in repair and maintenance of heavy equipment.
• Alternative: 8 years of journey-level experience with diagnostic/electronic fuel injection knowledge or 6 years with a company/apprenticeship program in Hoisting Engineer.
• A CDL license as issued by the State of Illinois is required

Responsibilities

• Schedule and oversee preventive maintenance on assigned equipment.
• Monitor mechanics performing diagnostic tests and assess problems and malfunctions.
• Inspect repairs performed by Hoisting Engineer Mechanics.
• Monitor and ensure efficient shop procedures.
• Assist in troubleshooting mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical issues on heavy equipment; maintain records

Education

US Department of Labor registered apprenticeship program as an Operating Engineer - Heavy Equipment Technician

Journeyman status in heavy equipment repair

Commercial Driver's License (CDL) required
