Job summary

ECU Health Physicians and ECU Health Medical Center in Greenville, NC seek a Clinical Pathologist to serve as the Director of the HLA Laboratory. The role leads a clinical team within a 974-bed tertiary center, providing HLA typing, antibody screening, and crossmatching for solid organ transplants.

Applicants must hold MD/DO/PhD and be eligible for NC medical licensure; board certification/eligibility in CP or AP/CP is required.

Qualifications

• MD, DO or PhD from an appropriately accredited institution.
• Eligible to obtain a medical license in North Carolina; board certified/board eligible in Clinical Pathology or AP/CP.
• Experience in histocompatibility and immunogenetics with ASHI certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Interpret HLA typing, HLA antibody screening, and crossmatching (virtual/physical).
• Provide clinical consultation for the solid organ transplant program.
• Maintain compliance standards and manage standard operating procedures.
• Participate in after-hours, weekend, and holiday on-call coverage for clinical pathology services.
