Job summary

Vanderbilt Health's HLA Lab seeks a skilled professional to coordinate communication between the HIL and Transplant Teams, manage patient samples, orders, results, and reports, and utilize EPIC, HistoTrac, Unet, and NMDP software to support histocompatibility testing.

The role demands 3–5 years of HLA laboratory experience, excellent organizational and communication skills, and a commitment to accuracy, compliance, and collaboration across departments.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years of HLA Laboratory experience required.
• Excellent organizational, oral and written communication skills.
• Experience using EPIC, HistoTrac, Unet and NMDP, and other histocompatibility software.

Responsibilities

• Maintains communication with the transplant program via phone/email/TEAMS.
• Ensures testing and sample-related questions are followed up and resolved.
• Responds to inquiries regarding result status.
• Maintains UNOS Active waitlist in HistoTrac.
• Maintains NMDP form submission for forms 22/117.
• Maintains communication with Biotouch and monitors monthly waitlist batch uploads.
• Assists in maintaining UNOS/ TIEDI and HLA verification databases.
• Supports NKR database for unacceptable listings and HLA typing entries.
• Assists in ordering and reporting virtual crossmatches.
• Contributes to HIL test analysis, review, signoff and reporting.
• Contributes to QC and PT reviews and proper documentation.
• Participates in patient/donor selection meetings as needed.
