Job summary

Vance-Granville Community College is seeking a Histotechnology Laboratory Instructor to provide technical and organizational support for courses with a Histotechnology Laboratory component. This role coordinates all laboratories, orders supplies, maintains labs, and assists instructors.

You will attend department and school meetings, help ensure safety and accuracy, and contribute to NAACLS accreditation efforts.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in the discipline from an accredited histotechnology program with at least three years of laboratory teaching experience.
• ASCP Histology certification or eligible.
• Knowledge of and compliance with current CLIA Regulations
• Familiarity with routine histology procedures and equipment.
• Comfortable embedding both large and small specimens.
• Highly organized with a strong attention to detail
• Familiarity with laboratory SOPs and safety protocols
• Must be able to pass a standardized color vision screen
• Self-starter with an analytical and collaborative mind-set who can effectively work independently

Responsibilities

• Coordinate all laboratories and support courses with a Histotechnology Laboratory component.
• Order lab supplies for experiments and maintain all labs.
• Schedule student workers and assist instructors in labs.
• Attend departmental and school meetings and fulfill additional duties as needed.
• Maintain accurate attendance, competency checklists, and Moodle grades
