Job summary

Medical University of South Carolina is seeking a PRN Histology Technician to perform routine and complex histologic procedures under direct supervision. You will embed, microtome, stain, and perform immunohistochemistry on human tissue to produce slides for pathologists’ review, with quality control and documentation of observations.

Requirements include a Bachelor's degree or equivalent and HTL (ASCP BOC) certification (or equivalent).

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent required.
• HTL (ASCP BOC) certification or equivalent preferred.
• 5 years experience for support or 0-2 years for professional HTL.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine and complex histologic procedures, including embedding, microtomy, stains, and IHC.
• Produce microscopic slides for pathologists' review and perform quality control.
• Record observations and document instrument and equipment maintenance.
• Adhere to universal precautions and safety policies.
