Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in the biological, physical, chemical, life sciences, medical laboratory technology, or histology.
• HTL (ASCP) certification or eligibility.
• Preferred CAP-accredited histology laboratory experience.

Responsibilities

• Performs cassette-log reconciliation and initiates programs on tissue processors.
• Embeds biopsy, routine surgical, and autopsy tissues per SOP and assesses processing adequacy.
• Identifies and documents tissue orientation, embedding, and tracking in logs and LIMS.
• Performs sectioning and staining of tissue sections; ensures diagnostic quality and appropriate controls.
• Operates automated staining instrumentation and handles macros, troubleshooting staining issues.
• Participates in quality systems, safety, inventory management, and training of staff.
