Qualifications

• Bachelors degree in biological, physical, chemical, life sciences, medical laboratory technology, or histology.
• HTL (ASCP) certification or eligible; must pass within one year of employment.

Responsibilities

• Performs cassette-log reconciliation and operates conventional and microwave tissue processors.
• Embeds tissues and ensures processing adequacy; maintains documentation and logs.
• Operates microtome and staining instrumentation per SOP to produce diagnostic sections.
• Documents results, quality issues, and specimen tracking in the LIS and logs.
• Performs gross examination and assists in specimen handling as required.
• Participates in Quality System, safety, and infection control activities.
