Qualifications

• Associate degree with biology/chemistry credits or 60 college hours with biology/chemistry.
• Must obtain Histotechnician (HT) ASCP certification within 1 year.
• Must meet CLIA high-complexity testing requirements.

Responsibilities

• Performs cassette-log reconciliation and processing on tissue specimens.
• Embeds biopsies and surgical tissues; operates microtome for sections.
• Performs routine staining, quality checks, and coverslipping.
• Documents all steps in LIS; ensures specimen traceability and QC.
• Maintains equipment and safe laboratory practices per SOP.
