Qualifications

• Associates degree in Histology or equivalent as per CLIA 493.1489.
• Florida Technician License in Histology; ASCP certification or equivalent.
• 4–6 week orientation completed.
• Sufficient experience to understand the clinical lab functions for all ages.

Responsibilities

• Sectioning, staining, coverslipping, and slide preparation for all age groups.
• Perform routine procedures and techniques in histology with accuracy.
• Conduct quality control for each test/instrument to ensure accuracy.
• Recognize abnormal results and record reports precisely.
• Maintain and calibrate instruments; troubleshoot malfunctions within training scope.
• Receive, process, and prepare specimens for histology and assist pathologists.
