Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in cytotechnology from an accredited program or equivalent per CLIA 42 CFR 493.1489.
• Florida Technologist License in Cytology; ASCP or equivalent certification required.
• Completion of orientation period and ongoing competency evaluation.

Responsibilities

• Performs routine cytology and histology procedures including sectioning, staining, coverslipping, and slide preparation.
• Maintains quality control and calibration of instruments; documents results and investigates discrepancies.
• Prepares specimens, ensures specimen integrity, and verifies patient identification.
• Collaborates with physicians and pathologists; participates in training and safety programs.
