Halifax Health in Daytona Beach, FL, is seeking a Cytotechnologist to perform laboratory analyses across newborn to geriatric patients, ensuring timely, accurate results and maintaining quality standards. You will operate and troubleshoot cytology instruments, perform slide preparation, QC, and report findings to physicians, while upholding safety and patient confidentiality.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in cytotechnology from an accredited institution or the equivalent as outlined in CLIA 42 CFR 493.1489.
• Florida Technologist License in Cytology; ASCP or equivalent.
• Completion of 4-6 week orientation period is required.

Responsabilités

• Performs routine procedures and techniques on newborn, pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients in cytology/histology (sectioning, staining, coverslipping, slide prep).
• Performs QC with each test and instrument to check accuracy and reproducibility.
• Recognizes abnormal results and communicates to physician or pathologist.
• Performs maintenance/calibration of instruments and troubleshooting.
• Maintains specimen integrity and patient identification throughout analysis.
