The ideal candidate will hold an Associate degree in Histology, Florida Technician License, and ASCP certification (or equivalent), with experience handling newborn through geriatric specimens and a focus on quality control and safety.

Qualifications

• Associates degree in Histology; CLIA 42 CFR 493.1489 compliant.
• Florida Technician License in Histology; ASCP certification or equivalent.
• Experience with testing across age groups from newborn to geriatric; general lab knowledge.
• Performs routine histology procedures: sectioning, staining, coverslipping, slide prep.
• Conducts quality control, instrument maintenance, calibration, and troubleshooting.
• Receives, processes, and prepares specimens; supports pathologists.
• Trains new staff; collaborates in cytology and workload management.
• Maintains safety and hazard precautions; keeps a clean work environment.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine histology procedures including sectioning, staining, and slide preparation.
• Conduct quality control checks and ensure accuracy of results.
• Receive, process, and organize specimens for histology and cytology pathologists.
• Assist in training of new employees and support workload distribution.
