Job summary

US Path Labs in Boca Raton, FL is seeking a full-time Histology Technician to prepare tissue samples, document QA issues, and maintain calibrated equipment.

Minimum 2 years histology experience preferred; training available for new grads. ASCP HT/HTL certification and Florida licensure required; Mohs Surgery experience welcome but not required.

Qualifications

• Experience in histology workflow including fixation, staining, trimming, and sectioning.
• Strong QA mindset with documentation of issues and improvements.
• Ability to operate and calibrate lab equipment with clean workspace practices.

Responsibilities

• Prepare tissue samples by fixing, staining, dying, trimming, and other methods.
• Identify and document technical issues, quality assurance, and procedural improvements.
• Use, maintain, and calibrate laboratory equipment, and keep a clean, disinfected work space.
• Receive, log, and document patient specimens and accompanying forms.

Qualifications

• The person should be certified by the American Society of Clinical Pathologists as a histotechnician or histotechnologist.
• Experience working in a lab is almost always a must, as this is a critical part of the job.
• For new grads with positive attitudes and eagerness to learn, we will gladly assist in training.

Job Type

• Full-time
• Hours: 9am - 5:30pm, preferred

Experience

• Minimum of 2 years current Histology experience (Preferred)
• May take newer, licensed candidates under 2 years of experience
• Mohs Surgery experience is preferred but we will train the right candidate.

Education

• AS/BS in Biological/Physical Sciences or equivalent combination of education and experience

Certifications/Licenses

• HT or HTL ASCP certified and Florida licensed (Required)
