Job summary

Qualifications

NAACLS accredited histotechnician/histoTechnologist program completed within the last five years.
HT(ASCP) certification required or acceptable per qualifications.
Baccalaureate degree with biology and chemistry coursework.
Strong computer skills and familiarity with laboratory information systems.

Responsibilities

Accession and process histology and cytology specimens with accurate patient identification.
Prepare slides for microscopic examination and perform immunohistochemical staining.
Perform grossing under pathologist guidance and assist with frozen sections on request.
Operate tissue processor, stainers, and coverslipper; maintain equipment.
Maintain clean, organized work areas and document QA/QI statistics.
Restock supplies and manage specimens to reference labs as needed.
Support CT biopsies and EBUS/EUS procedures as required.
Complete required education and CAP surveys.
