Job summary

Northside Hospital is seeking a Histology Tech to develop and monitor activity in the Histology Lab and Morgue, handling receiving, prepared and processing of surgical specimens for patients. The candidate must have a HS diploma or GED, ASCP HT/HTL certification, and at least 1 year of histology experience, with a color-acuity screening test required.

Preferred candidates may have a science degree and related training.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent education (GED) or post-secondary education.
• Current HT/HTL Certification through American Society for Clinical Pathology (ASCP).
• One (1) year experience as a Histology Tech.
• Color-Acuity screening Test required.

Responsibilities

• Develops and monitors the work activities in the Histology Lab and Morgue.
• Performs routine histological activities of receiving, preparing, and processing surgical specimens for patients.
