Qualifications

Job description

Functioning within the Health System’s mission, values, objectives, procedures and policies, the Histology Technician performs routine and technical procedures as directed by pathologist. Maintains pre-determined quality standards in testing. Ensures the Laboratory is in compliance with CLIA88 with regard to patient test management by having in place an adequate system to report results in a timely, accurate, reliable and confidential manner and ensure patient confidentiality throughout those parts of the total testing process that are under the Laboratory’s control.

Education: Baccalaureate degree in a related science field from a regionally accredited college/university and Board Certified HTL(ASCP).

Licensure/Certification: HTL(ASCP) preferred, or HTL (ASCP) required to obtain within one year of hire.

Experience: Previous experience in a health system of similar size is preferred.

Skills: Must have excellent customer service, communication, and interpersonal skills required.
