Job Details
The Histotechnician/Histotechnologist performs laboratory tissue testing according to established procedures and protocols. They receive, process, and prepare tissue samples for diagnosis using techniques such as embedding, microtomy, staining, cover-slipping, Immunohistochemistry, and special stains. The role may also involve specialization in specific laboratory disciplines and requires effective teamwork within the department and with other departments to ensure quality service through communication, cooperation, and collaboration.
Job Description
Minimum Education and Experience Requirements:
Education: An Associate's degree in a related life science or applied science field, or HEW/HHS or HT(ASCP) certification with laboratory experience in lieu of a degree.
Experience: 1-2 years' previous experience preferred; student training accepted. HT (ASCP) or equivalent certification preferred.
