Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED with 4 years of histology lab experience, or an associate's degree with 3 years, or a bachelor's degree with 2 years in histology.
• Familiarity with Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS).
• ASCP HT/HTL certification preferred.
• Excellent communication and problem-solving skills required.
• Ability to work independently and in a fast-paced team environment.

Responsibilities

• Answer questions, troubleshoot equipment, and facilitate interdepartmental projects.
• Troubleshoot on-hold cases and coordinate sample movement through lab facilities.
• Assist in training new employees in pertinent tasks.
• Operate a microtome to produce slides from paraffin blocks.
• Perform automated H&E staining and manual Kwik-Diff staining.
• Prepare samples for nucleic acid extraction and maintain equipment.
