Job summary

Allegheny Health Network is seeking an experienced histotechnologist to independently perform routine and special histological procedures on patient tissue specimens. You will embed, section, stain, and label slides for pathologist review, operate histology instrumentation, and ensure quality control across all processes.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in ASCP eligible program or HLT certification.
ASCP certification within one year of hire.
Preferred clinical histology experience.

Responsibilities

Embed, section, label, and process tissue sections for slides.
Perform routine and special staining procedures.
Operate, calibrate, check and maintain instrumentation; troubleshoot QC issues.
Serve as consultant to histotechnicians and health care providers.
Maintain clean work area and adequate supplies for lab operations.
May assist with collection of pathology specimens.
May mentor students and new employees.
Perform other duties as assigned.
