Job summary

Qualifications

• Associates degree in Histology or equivalent per CLIA standards.
• Florida Technician License in Histology; ASCP certification or equivalent.
• Completion of 4–6 week orientation period is required.
• Experience to acquire general knowledge of clinical laboratory functions across age groups.
• Performs routine histology procedures (sectioning, staining, coverslipping, slide prep) and related QC.

Responsibilities

• Perform sectioning, staining, coverslipping and slide preparation for newborn to geriatric patients.
• Conduct quality control to ensure accuracy and reproducibility of tests.
• Record and report results accurately to pathologists and clinicians.
• Maintain and calibrate instruments; troubleshoot malfunctions within training scope.
• Process and prepare specimens; organize for pathologists; assist training of new employees.
• Handle clerical duties, report generation, and safety in a clean workspace.
